Today, we’re going to demystify your captivating first impression. Consider this the unique energetic essence that people sense when they first enter your world!

This is so powerful to understand because when we nail this, we stop trying to brand like others in our industry and instead express our natural allure. You know that attraction you feel when you meet someone who is so authentically themselves? As opposed to uncomfortably trying to act the way they think will make you like them? This is what we’re going to clarify today.

And I’m going to be honest: this one is more advanced than yesterday, so grab a journal and pen or whip out your notes app! Because I’m not serving you something basic—I know you’re here for the big, delectable, juicy bowl of cosmic awakening!

We’re going to start with our AC, aka our Ascendant, aka our Rising Sign (all the same thing).

  • Outward personality and style

  • Physical appearance and presentation (so consider this with your visual branding!)

  • Outward perception and how others first perceive you

  • Natural instincts 

Locate your “AC” on your natal chart (AC is the same as your Rising Sign, here’s the link to review how to find and read your chart.) Then find its association below…

This is how you—and by extension your work and business—are initially perceived.

Now we want to layer a bit more upon this to get more nuanced about how and where you express this signature impression!

So next thing you are going to do is find what we call your chart ruler. Your chart ruler is the planet/luminary that rules your ascendant, and therefore is the guiding energy steering your life’s journey… So cool, right?!

You can reference this list:

Your Chart Ruler:

  • Aries: Mars

  • Taurus: Venus

  • Gemini: Mercury

  • Cancer: Moon

  • Leo: Sun

  • Virgo: Mercury

  • Libra: Venus

  • Scorpio: Mars (traditional) / Pluto (modern)

  • Sagittarius: Jupiter

  • Capricorn: Saturn

  • Aquarius: Saturn (traditional) / Uranus (modern)

  • Pisces: Jupiter (traditional) / Neptune (modern)

Note that some signs have two rulers. I recommend starting with the traditional ruler and then after this exercise return to layer in the modern ruler for some extra sauce!

And then here is where it gets real juicy, and don’t fret my pet, I’m going to guide you to alchemize it all together at the end!

Find what sign and house your chart ruler sits in your chart.

So for example, I’m a Libra rising, and Libra is ruled by Venus, so I would look for my natal Venus placement, which I see is sitting in Gemini in my 9th house. 

Write yours down and then let’s decode it below, starting with the sign of your chart ruler…

BUT, this isn’t the magick. The magick is now taking this plug-and-play word salad and creatively applying it to you and your specific work using your own words and interpretation.

So here’s how I turned mine into something that actually makes sense for my work:

The initial impression of my brand is captivating when I am authentically expressing my vibey aesthetic while connecting with my people in a way that is engaging and equitable. And I do this by following my natural tendency to be playfully chatty and intellectually curious when it comes to my dark feminine teachings. And it would benefit me to make my first impressions through publishing (a book perhaps?!) and travel!

Do you see how this makes it feel ownable? And even gave me greater insight on how to be more captivating moving forward?

This insight can also help us stand out in our respective industries! For example, even though my work is rooted in eroticism and mysticism, the first impression I give off isn’t meant to be intense and mysterious like maybe one would assume by the nature of my business. 

And THAT is how our aligned audiences will recognize us when they encounter our work. So bring this demystified energy to your branding, content, experiences, etc.!
